A brilliant live line-up is confirmed for this Friday’s Plugged II event at the Sir Charles Napier, Live Lounge, 41 King Street and O’Neills. And, with loads of other venues joining in with themes and special guest DJs, Plugged is set to take over the town centre once again.

Created to get Blackburn back on the map by promoting its live music scene and thriving nightlife, the debut Plugged event back in July was a massive success with venues across the town from 41 King Street and Sir Charles Napier to Rhubarb, Blackburn Library and Liquid and Envy packed with music fans enjoying an impressive line-up of bands from varying genres and styles.

Feedback from bands, fans and venues was positive, with venues reporting a massive increase in trade compared to a standard Friday night in the town.

‘Plugged II: One Big Night Out’ is set to equal this as it brings in live performances from the likes of the London based Thunderbird 13, Derby’s You Animals, the crazy Bang! Bang! Eche! from New Zealand, Valleum from Wales, and local talents Fifth House, Splyce and Violet Vortex to name but a few.

Not content with this, Plugged II will also see a range of top DJs at venues from FJ Nicholls to the Stage Door, a fancy dress party at Liquid and Envy and 80s theme night at Pitchers Bar. On the edge of town, the Bowlplex complex and bar is also getting in on the act with a special disco and for something slightly different - you can also catch a performance by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at King George’s Hall!

Again Plugged is working in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Blackburn BarU and Make Lancashire Safer Campaign to ensure a fun and safe night out for everyone. Many venues will allow entry of under 16s, but there will be a strict bar policy in all venues and ID will be required for those lucky enough to still look under 18 (under 25 in some venues).
